WEST END AVENUE. Considered a favorite among locals, Amerigo prides itself on serving some of the city's best and most innovative dishes. Although the decor is brighter and more modern than the traditional Italian ristorante, make no mistake, the upscale cuisine is definitively Italian. The menu includes everything from traditional pasta and pizza dishes to more modern grilled fish and vegetarian options.

BELLE MEADE. Don't judge this restaurant by its exterior; the strip-mall location is decidedly un-Italian. However, the candlelit interior and Italian music set the stage for an authentic Italian meal. Chef Caesar uses only fresh ingredients in his traditional dishes and pizzas. Take your family or significant other to this restaurant for a relaxing, delicious, filling and, best of all, affordable meal.

SYLVAN PARK. Head downtown for a savory Italian lunch or dinner in this small but charming establishment. A majority of the meals on the menu are prepared by the old family recipes of Chef Daniel Maggipinto's grandmother, Nonna. Linguine Angelina, steak pizzaiola and penne sugalosa are among the mouthwatering items on listed on the menu.

WEST END AVENUE. Located just one block off Nashville's trendy West End Avenue, this neighborhood gem regularly creates pizza "masterpieces" ­ thus fueling its claim to the title of "Best Pizza in Nashville." The pizzas here are innovative, to say the least, ranging from oysters Rockefeller pie to spicy, Southwestern-style chicken pizza. Expect to pay a little more, but know that you'll taste the difference. In the warmer months, it's nice to sit on their patio, drink a few brews and munch on one of DaVinci's gourmet pies. Reservations are not accepted.

DOWNTOWN. What a mix! Let it not be said that Demo's doesn't cater to a wide sampling of American diners. Don't expect a classic dinner club atmosphere, but you can count on a casual atmosphere and an energetic staff who enjoys making meals fun for the customers. This family-friendly restaurant serves everything from tasty steaks to well portioned pasta and seafood specialties.
